PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on


7th day of December 2023


At the Hanksville Community Center, 30 S Highway 95, Hanksville Utah, at the hour of 6:00pm


Hanksville Town will hold a public hearing to receive public comment on the proposal to increase wastewater user charges.


Hanksville Town has applied to the Utah Water Quality Board for a loan to be used for the wastewater system

improvements, including repair of the lagoon and protection from future flood events, together with related

improvements.

The total estimated project cost is $2,070,600. $1,694,600 of the project cost will be covered by a grant. 

$26,000 has been received as ARPA funds which are not repayable by the Town.  $350,000 will be a repayable

loan.  The loan in the amount of $350,000 will bear no interest and will be repayable as follows:

In order to pay the new bond indebtedness (loan) the Town is proposing an increase in wastewater user charges


per month per connection as follows:


Monthly rate shall be increased from $15.50 to $32.00 per month.
