The Hanksville Town Council meeting convened its regular session on the 21st day of July, 2022 in the Hanksville Community Center; meeting commenced at 6:00 p.m.

Announcer’s booth at the arena needs some repairs and council discussed the need for more speakers. C. Conder will get with Jeff Ekker to see what is needed for stock fencing at the arena.
Council member Morgan Stephens: ABESNT
Council member Eric Wells:
Emery Telcom fixed the router at the treatment plant. C. Eric Wells has been in touch with Tyler Moore to figure out why the SCATA reading messed up and the town ran out of water.
Mayor Jeffren Pei:
Roads – Brennan Rees with Ensign Engineering will be down to do a final check on the roads project.
Bull Creek crossing – NRCS, Lance Smith requested an extension with the plans for Bull Creek. He expects the design phase to be completed by October 2022 and requesting funding by February 2023. In the mean time the mayor requested that barricades be places on both sides of the Bull Creek crossing that was damaged in the flood.

Planning Commission: Chylene Whipple – requested a public hearing be held prior to the adoption of the Wayne County 2011 Zoning ordinance. The planning commission also is nearly complete with the general plan. The council discussed the procedure to have an orderly public hearing, each person will be allowed 2 minutes to make a comment. The council was instructed to listen to each comment but the hearing is not a time for rebuttal. August 2nd there will be a public hearing for public comment on adoption of the 2011 Wayne County Zoning Ordinance – A Land Use Ordinance and then on August 18th the council will hold another public hearing on the general plan.

Chylene Whipple – The T at the end of center on the way to the firehouse still has ruts.
Sara Bradbury – The taste of the town water changed after the town sold water to the construction company who worked on the airport a few years ago. She would like to discontinue selling water to contractors.
