Join us for the 2024 Independence Day Celebration

Thursday - Saturday | July 4th - 6th

Welcome to Hanksville's Independence Day weekend celebration! We invite you to join us for a spectacular weekend filled with fun, food, and festivities. Gather with family, friends, and neighbors as we come together to honor our nation’s heritage and enjoy a range of exciting events. From parades and games to music and fireworks, there's something for everyone. Let's make this 4th of July weekend unforgettable in our charming town of Hanksville. Come and be part of the celebration!

Town Activities

Thursday the 4th

7:00 AM - 9:00 AM - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Young Men's Breakfast

Start your day with a hearty pancake breakfast put on by the local Young Men, served at the Hanksville town park pavilion. Enjoy a delicious meal and great company to kick off the celebrations. 

10:00 AM - Parade

Join us for our patriotic parade, themed “Freedom Is...”. Watch as floats and community groups parade down Highway 24 from Stan's Burger Shak to the Church of Jesus Christ.

American Heritage Program

Right after the parade, head over to the Old Rock Church for a special Patriotic Program. Celebrate our nation’s history and heritage with songs, speeches, and more. Here the winners of our Independence Day coloring contest will be announced. Prizes will be awarded, and winning entries will be displayed at the Old Church.

12:00 PM - Lunch

The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP) are sponsoring a delicious lunch at the firehouse. Come hungry and enjoy some great food and good company. Donations welcome.

1:00 PM - Games at the Town Park

Head to the park for a variety of water games and activities. It’s a perfect way to keep the kids cool and maybe even engage in some friendly competition.

6:00 PM - T-ball/Softball

Gather at the town park for some fun-filled T-ball and softball games. Whether you're playing or cheering, it’s a great way to enjoy the evening.

8:00 PM - Horseshoes and Music

As the evening cools down, enjoy a game of horseshoes and music. The horseshoe competition will be held within the arena. It’s a great way to relax and enjoy the community spirit.

Dark ≈ 10:00PM - Fireworks

Find a cozy spot at the Hanksville town park and watch the sky light up with a dazzling display of fireworks.

Friday, July 5th

7:00 PM - Gymkhana

The fun continues with a Gymkhana event. Sign-ups start at 6:00 PM, so make sure to register early. Come and cheer on the participants as they show off their equestrian skills. This event is free to all spectators.

Burger, hot dogs and delicious corn-on-the-cob will be served the Hanksville EMS.

Saturday, July 6th

7:00 PM - ATV Rodeo

Wrap up the holiday weekend with the thrilling ATV Rodeo at the arena. It’s an exciting event you won’t want to miss!

After ATV Rodeo - Movie Night Under the Stars

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to the town park for a delightful Movie Night Under the Stars. Enjoy a family-friendly movie on the big screen, surrounded by the beautiful night sky.

Fireworks
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the completely volunteer Hanksville Fire Department for their incredible efforts in putting on the spectacular fireworks show. Your dedication and hard work make this celebration special for everyone in our community. Thank you for lighting up our Independence Day with such an amazing display!
